Kristian Devantier graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2000 and has since participated in several group exhibitions and solo exhibitions in Denmark and Europe.
Kristian Devantier's works consist of a number of recognizable basic elements - colors, surfaces and faceless people. There is an insistence on an anti-expressive and concrete form language that is close to both child drawing and popular culture's expressions. It can be said that Devantier reinterprets the art and realities of pop art with the difference that, unlike pop art, he does not cultivate that content, but on the contrary fills his painting with narrative. With the combination of the unpretentious simplicity of the form language and the existential gravity of the theme, the images achieve a low-impact impact.
