Her first works were landscapes, but later they became more surreal. Moltke has worked in lithography, dry needle, mezzotint, aquatint and erasure. Her paintings are done with both precision and a refined sense of color, mastered by blue-green tones. Motivationally, they revolve around the same themes as the graphic works. From the early 1990s Moltke has worked with texts included in the pictures, and from around 1993-94 she has experimented with mixing photography and her own print, just as she has been working on mixing photos and painting.
